How do I add my fiance's name to the deed of my home? The mortgage is in my name, but I would like her to be on the deed. We live in North Carolina.

Don't do it!! I am in terrible law despute trying to gain back my rights to the house that I bought and then added a fiancée to... please wait until you are married... I have been used and I don't mean to sound distrusting but I am... If it is yours than keep it as yours... my fiancée promised marriage and now is countersuing me for the house. I will pray for you.

I will agree with mblythe, if you want her to have it if you die, put her in the will to get it, Just read about mblythe and others who have ended up not getting married and having all sorts of trouble, and even those that marry and divorce in one or two years.

You can protect her to getting the house by adding her to your will to get the hosue if you die,

There is a standing joke in the company I work for, a lot of fast divorces,
*** instead of getting married, just find a women you hate and buy her a house, it is cheaper than divorce.
