Ask Me Help Desk - Tell me how it is lol.

Hey All, I am looking to pick your brains with my relationship questions. I have been with my boyfriend for 2 ½ years its been the best relationship I really have ever had as a normal couple we had our up and downs. I am 5 years older than him. He is pretty mature for his age I am 26 and he is turning 22. We communicate pretty good I like talking about any issues to get everything out on the table the last talk we had it was about our relationship and at one point I asked where do you see us years from now and his answer is as always I'm not a fortune teller, lol now I understand that cause neither am I but is that a normal answer or his he just confuse ? The 2nd issue is his birthday is coming up and I wanted to go out with him and his friends but he wants to go out with just the guys and me seperatly. I don’t mind when he hangs out with friends but for a birthday I feel like we should do it together. I wanted to know if I'm being childish or not acting my age. I really do not want to push him away or make myself look to needy but I am very happy with him and loving spending time together am I wrong for feeling this way. I no this is kind of vague but I didn’t want to go into a long boring story any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. O and I don’t mind being told how it is lol.

Well when he says he isn't a fortune teller, which is somewhat true, however as you said a mature person would find a positive way of answering such a question.
You should tell him the same, state you arnt a fortune teller but you see what a layes ahead of you together in the years to come.

Now re: his birthday, I personally also see this abit strange, though it is his birthday, the choice is his, has this happened before?

Well he went last year alone with his buddies and I didn't say much because I'm really not a clubber and all but now the longer we are together Im starting to wonder if it will ever change... Then there is even a small part of me that is wondering if he wants to go alone to try to meet someone else. He said he has a different feeling when he stays with his friends and that he wants to do something with me also seperatly.

I personally also do this on every birthday. I like to keep my life a little separate. I go out the night before (So my birthday is at midnight and I'm usually having a great time) then spend the next day with my partner. This honestly doesn't affect my feelings for him or mean that I feel I can meet someone else, I just like to be out with the girls. You can relax and be girlie and dance and sing and just be silly and the girls do it too.
The fortune teller answer, I thought was quite cute. It could mean that he genuinely doesn't know where he will be, or it could mean he doesn't want to tell you. Only you can judge this. If he doesn't want to tell you then it might be that he is shy and doesn't want to tell you that he wants 'to have your babies' (I can't get that stupid Natasha Bedingfield song out of my head today). Boys hate admitting this stuff, while girls like to scream it from the roof top. Or maybe he stillisnt sure. He is only 22 after all.
I can however see why this would irritate you. Do you tell him where you would like to be in 1 year, 2 years or 10? If you do does he say that he would like those things too? Try turning it into a conversation about what you both WANT to happen in the future not how it will be. Let me know what he says (I'm nosey)

I talk about the future all the time so does he and he includes me in it. Its almost like second nature he said when we have kids, or when he finishes scholl he wants to get married things along that lines :) o and thanks for the help it makes me feel better
