Shocking college hazing rituals at prestigious Australian university revealed in report - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

This article speaks of some sort of university initiation, but it could just as well speak of a teenager with a gun.

My point is there are a lot of people who think they can bully others, who think they have a god given right to do what ever they want too, even if this means outright killing. They shout you can't take away my rights

The teen in the article committed suicide, this act on top of others he had suffered was just too much, but it is to be hoped those who did whatever to him are charged, convicted and consigned to a deep hole where they will learn what awaits people like them, and I think the same should apply to any teen who takes up a weapon, or in fact, any person who does not respect others right to life

Ah, the Tide Pod generation. Thinnest skin ever in a human... who feel they have a right to do or say anything with no repercussions or retorts.

Oh sure, ''time to get rid of ----- people in society.'' You hope hell holes and so on, OK. That goes on all over the world.
So pick your alma mater and harass the board and the dean. I don't know! What are you going to do about it? Exterminate at your bidding? Hope I do something about it?

I call them the clique crowd, and the price to join is abject humiliation, no better than a beat down to join a gang. Here the Greek alphabet crew, better known as fraternities and sororities here, can be disbanded and banned for such bullying, or illegal activity, and poor behavior. For years college administrators just looked the other way, or in some cases aided, and abided by the antics such as this.

I think you Aussies are realizing that denial means nothing changes, and will come out of that, and start cracking down on your own youths. If you can't call a cop, call a lawyer. Aussies have courts for this sort of thing don't they?

It is not the first time these colleges at this University have been called out, but they close ranks so getting at the facts is very difficult. In this case it obviously wasn't reported to the police immediately. Yes, we have a litigious legal system just as you do, if you want to spend years in the process. My point is you can't solve the problem after the event, you have to have the process in place right from the start. A no tolerance policy. Look we all know what the Rah, Rah boys are like and this is base camp, but students are entitled to a safe environment at any time and in any educational institution. We are after all dealing with immature individuals and predatory behaviourThese problems exist in many places and PC prevents tackling the problem head on. Whether it is guns, drugs, alcohol or something else the problems go on until the issue becomes chronic and the community has to accept the fallout, and in fact it is stupidity that allows this to happen. Whether that stupidity lies in political inaction or political corruption, there is only one place where the buck stops
