How do I check the status of my amended tax return?

Has it been at least 8 weeks since you mailed it.

If so, call the IRS and ask.

If not, wait until the 8 week mark.

I filed an amended return on 2/18/10 to remove my children from my taxes so that my brother can claim them. I sent everything into the IRS to the no refund/no payment department beings that I am not due any kind of refund and do not have to pay in for the change either. It was just simply to remove my kids from my return. I was wondering how long, and what the status of my claim is so that my brother who is going to claim my children can file his taxes?
