    Check Transaxle light blinking
2003 Ford Taurus 3.0L Check Transaxle light comes on and blinks after driving a long distance. It will blink until the car is stopped and the engine is turned off, but when restarted the light stays out until another long trip is made. This light will not come on if the car is driven a short distance. The transmission fluid and filter are new. There are no shifting problems with the transmission, upshifts and downshifts with no problems even when the check transaxle light is flashing. Is this possibly a sensor or switch acting up or is this a major issue with this transmission?

Resetting you computer is the most quick simplest thing to do. If that doesn't solve the issue visit the mechanic.

When your vehicle's computer senses a problem with a prominent piece of equipment such as the transmission or engine, it will send out a code to alert you. This will result in a warning light appearing on your vehicle's dashboard. After the repair is complete, however, it may still be necessary to reset your the computer in order for the warning light or lights to disappear. Fortunately, this process is fairly simple.
