Can restraints be used to force CPAP use in Hospital?
Not sure if this is the place to ask but I'll try. I'm fairly new to CPAP use and not adjusting well. I'm trying but just can't take it a lot especially when I'm not in a good mood. I have to go in the hospital for unrelated surgery. I know they will be trying to get me to use the CPAP. I'm going tobe in pain from surgery and pretty miserable and am sure I'm not going to be in the modd for CPAP. If I refuse to use it or keep pulling the mask off, can they use restraints on me? Thanks.

Only if the doctor orders restraints can the restraints be used. Restraints are not used often and usually only used to protect the patient from certain dangers.

You might want to ask your doctor what his protocol is for using restraints as each doctor and each hospital have different policies in place for restraints.
