Is there any manufacturing difference between indoor and outdoor ceiling fan ?

Yes... outdoor MUST be designed and built for exposure to the elements (specifically moisture in its various forms but not that alone) and much larger temperature swings an indoor fan will never be exposed to. Using an indoor fan outdoors will lead to rapid failure and even life threatening exposure to shock and or fire.

Weather protection is one thing BUT Indoor fans have wooden blades, outdoor fans have plastic or weather resistant blades. Put an indoor fan outdoors and it will quickly rust and the blades will sag.

Manufacturers divide fans into three categories: Dry, Damp, and Wet. These categories are also referred to as ratings in manufacturing facilities These ratings are determined by Underwriters' Laboratories, an independent testing organisation. Outdoor fans are considered wet rated, while indoor fans are dry rated. On a contrary when dry rated fan is installed outdoors, it is more likely to attract dust. The fins also deteriorate very fast. Rust comes with in few days. Heat and moisture can warp blades. Warping of the blades causes impaired circulation, noise-making, and wobbling.

Dry Rating Fan = Indoor use (No Moisture areas)
Damp Rating Fan = Outdoor use (No direct contact with Water)
Wet Rating Fan = Outdoor use (Direct contact with Water)
