    Old roll of solder
I have an old roll of solder, Sterling taramac, 1/8 inch wide, lead free. I can't find any info on this on the internet and wondering if it is still usable or appropriate for soldering some 3/4 inch copper pipe together. Does solder degrade with age?

Use it... I have electrical solder that's 30+ years old that is perfectly fine as as good as the day it was made.

As stated above, yes, your old roll of solder is OK to be used

If not shiney, I would use a brass or steel wool, Even a scratchpad may work. To remove any surface tarnishing?/Oxidation?
