I'm charging battery, all I get is clicking sound

If this is an auto battery, and the clicking is fast pitch, the battery still does not have enough amps. Best bet would be to get a set of jumper cables and have some one jump start your vehicle, then let the battery recharge itself with the car running.

Is the clicking while charging, or when turning key?
