I have a rain lamp that uses AC-1012 112 volt 3 watt 30-36 rpm motor. I can't find one online and was wondering if a 4 watt comparable synchronous motor would be OK?

See no reason why not, rotation direction may be an issue. Some things can be run one direction only.
