    Scars from pneumonia
My doctor told me I have scar tissue left over from a mild case of pneumonia. Will I have these scars forever or is there anything I can do to make it go away? Will this scar tissue cause problems like making me more likely to getting pneumonia again?

I too have scars left over from a case of pneumonia. No they don't go away, but they should not cause you any problems. However, once you have had a bad case of pneumonia you run a good chance of getting it again. My Dr. has put me on a bi yearly pneumonia shot to decrease the chances of getting it again. I however had a very severe case of it, and was in the hospital for more then a month. I am not sure if they offer it to those who have only had mild cases. That is something to ask your doctor.

I have scar on my lungs from a couple of bad cases of pneumonia. The first case I was only 10 days old and I had a really strange form of it or something and then when I was about 16 or 17 I had double pneumonia and broncitis all at the same time. It just seems like you have to be extra careful when it is extremely cold at side because they are more sensitive to the cold weather hope that helps

K1 is correct about the cold. You also need to be careful around smoke (cigs or campfires).
