My son got the tune-up a few years back. I just learned there are no spark plug wires in modern cars. Under the engine cover there are the plugs (No gaping I’ve been told) and the corresponding coils. Looks so easy to replace to me. Attached in the repair invoice for the Tune-Up from pep boys

? No wires ? I wonder what those wires are on my 2016 Town and Country ?
And the plugs have gaps (all preset)

So not sure what "modern" car you have but from looking at mine, I would think it does.

They do have wires, not the old style and no distributor, each plug has it's own coil. The wires go to coil packs and are fired by the computer. Coil pack and labor charge seems high. $171 for a single Coil pack? $50 or less for almost every car I have had.

It looks like they didn't supply ever plug and every coil, regardless if it needed it.
Years ago when I went for a tuneup they replaced all the plugs?

Bill shows 4 plugs. No reason to replace coil packs unless bad. My 2005 Honda CRV has 170,000 and never changed coil packs, plugs @110,000 miles

They are easy to replace. On the 2000 Toyota Corolla, you just disconnect the electrical connection to each spark plug boot, remove the boots, and then remove the spark plugs with a 3/8" socket. Took me less than 10 min. Would probably take you 10-20 min depending on the location of the plugs. Some cars it's easier to get to them than on others. The Corolla's are all in a straight line on the top of the engine. But on my V6 Mazda truck, I have to work around a lot of other parts because the cylinders are in a V configuration.

I also noticed they charged for cleaning the throttle body. That's not usually included in a tune-up unless the customer specifically asked for it to be done. Also, charging him $4.89 for a whole can of throttle body cleaner seems like a rip off since they probably didn't use the whole can. An honest repair shop will only charge you a small fee for materials used.

Well what do you know, the shop he went to is Pep Boys. Same place a thug Mexican screwed up my frame rails by placing the jack an in improper location and stole the plastic trim cover off my gas-rear hatch release lever.
