How to Obtain an Abstract of Title
I lost my abstract of title, how do I get another copy of it?

Start at your local courthouse in Property Deeds. Are you talking about a deed or abstract? They are different. An Abstract is the total history of the house or property since records were kept. Normally a Deed is what you receive at closing, not an Abstract.

And a abstract would have been prepared and written by a title company and/or a attorney who does property law. Who prepared it for you ?

Did you get title insurance ? If so, then they often have copies.

If not, you can hire a company to prepare a new one.

As noted, if it is just the deed you are talking about, it is at the court house filed.
