Tax exemption for Indian Students on OPT
Is the income made during the OPT peroid exempted from tax? I know it is for chinese student. I was wondering if same is true for Indian students?

If yes do I need to fill any extra forms apart from 1040NR-EZ?

    Thanks !

No, the income is NOT exempt for ANY foreign student, be they Chinese, Indian or Martian.

The Chinese do get a treaty exemption of $5,000, but after that, the income IS subject to income taxes.

You need to complete Form 8843 and attach it to the Form 1040NR-EZ.
