I am a J1 visa holder. I am living in the USA for less than 2 years. I want to know the difference between 1040NR and 1040NR-EZ. I am not sure, which form should I file for my tax returns.

In about 80% of the cases, Form 1040NR-EZ works find for non-resident alien tax returns, because state income tax withholdings CAN be claimed as an itemized deduction on Form 1040NR-EZ.

Form 1040NR is needed if you have a Schedule C or if you donated to charity OR if you have large employee business expenses.
