Hello: having trouble finding a germanium diode for a wideband RF detector (bug detector) plan found in a countersurveillance book. The engineer states that it should be a "5 Ghz wideband lower than normal forward voltage" germanium diode. Any suggestions?

Well first of all, this is a home DIY electrical forum, not an electronic engineering forum.

Second, you haven't asked a question.

Third, you haven't given us any information.

My suggestion is that you contact the author of the book. His/her name will be on the inside pages along with the ISBN number. Or you might want to contact the editor of the book to get help. I've done that once or twice and was put in contact with the author.

One other suggestion would be to contact a nearby college that has an Electrical Engineering school and ask one of the teachers for assistance.
