Vacuum relief valve leaks water all the time
My vacuum relief valve constantly releases a small stream of water. Why is this.

    Hi Chuckboy

Most likely, a backflow condition occurred and opened the valve to keep the water heater from siphoning out the water and simply didn't seal up after the backflow condition stopped. No matter the cause, if the VRV is leaking it needs to be replaced. The job should be as simple as shutting the water off, draining a little water off from the heater and unscrewing the VRV to replace with a new VRV.

    Good luck!

    Mark
