    Speakers won't work!
I have just recently fixed my computer from a bug called isass.exe system error.
In order to fix my computer I had to insert a recovery disc deleting everything from my computer. There was a weird thing on it I deleted the bug but I still had all my programs when I came to watch something on my computer I turned on my speakers but they would not work. Do you have any ideas because I really need my speakers to work.
    Thanks

You may have deleted the drivers for your sound card when you did the recovery.

What operating system are you using?

Ok, so if you open device manager do you get any yellow question marks?

(To open device manager, right-click on your desktop and select 'properties' the select the 'Hardware' tab, then click 'Device manager')

Right, they're where your problems lie then!

Do you have any idea what make or models these devices are, or do you have any discs that came with them? They will contain the drivers!

I'm not sure what you mean , sorry if I am being a pain, the speakers are labtec and there were no discs with the speakers. I do have a application and support cd that came with the PC though

    It's OK, don't fret.

If it is the drivers for your audio and communication controllers, then don't worry about your speakers, they're fine!

You could start with your support CD, put that in the CD Drive first.

If you go back into device manager and double click on either of the devices you said had the yellow box next to them, then click the 'driver' tab and 'update driver'

Follow the wizard, but it will ask you where you want to search for drivers, tell it to look at the CD.

Hopefully it will find the correct driver on that CD.

Try both yellow boxed devices, let me know how you get on!
