Childsupport? Nobody knows who the baby's Daddy is?
My son dated a girl briefly. Her and her other lied about her age. My son was 18 and her 17 years old. She is pregnant is trying to say that the baby is his. When she found out she was pregnant she confessed she had been doing drugs, drinking and smoking. He found out she was sleeping with many guys including his ex-best friend. At the time she ended up pregnant. They broke up because she would not stop her reckless behavior during this pregnancy. She called my house 50 times a day I had to get my number changed. She is threatening to sue my son for child support. What are his rights? She slept with so many other guys? How can she single him out by law? What can he do to protect himself? Can she just put any guys name on the birth certificate? Whether they are there or not?

Your son basically cannot do anything at this point except wait and see. Once the child is born a paternity test can be requested through child support enforcement. If he is the father he will have to pay. Any lies, behavior of this girl will not take away his responsibility to a child. Most states do require a mother to be married or the father to sign a notarized affidavit before a man can be listed as the father. She can give the baby any last name she wants though. At this point I would take her claims with a grain of salt. Try to take a wait and see attitude. Nothing can be done now anyway. If a child is born and proves to be his, (your son's) he will have rights as well as responsibilities. Hope this helps. Cathy
