Tom he gave a speech full on rhetoric, how could he do otherwise? He didn't tell you anything you hadn't heard before and will hear again. He may act against islamic state, in its weakened condition it should be a push over for a mighty power, he may even ask his Russian allies to join in to finish what they started, its going to be a turkey shoot, no pun intended.

We all know whose going to do the work when it comes down to it, cheap labour, because the jobs, if they exist, will be cheap labour jobs. Trump is not an innovator, his vision is from the past, not the future, big military confronting a threat of his own making

His rhetoric matches that of utopian socialists ;that's my point. He even used the dark despair narrative that guys like Tal like to spew. Trump's America is a place of closed factories, devastated inner cities, citizens who have been exploited by a political class that grew rich while others lost their livelihoods. He thinks we are a nation beaten and defeated by enemies and friends alike . His answers are more big government solutions .

What government has grown is out of touch with the people . That is why you can have demagogue populists like Trump and Sanders do so well in the election cycle. But they are not what is needed. They will enable just bigger more intrusive government .

What we need is limited government federalism . The writers of the Constitution knew one day the federal government would encroach on the powers of the states and the rights of the people. George Mason promoted Article V of the Constitution to give the people, through their state legislatures, the right to rein in their government and restore it to its proper bounds. It is time for the people to exercise that clause to reign in the excesses of the federal government ,

nah ,their thinking is universal and self evident . Empires are centrally controlled .The world was dealing with centrally controlled despotic regimes long before the Framers .

That maybe so Tom, human nature is what it is, and political power gravitates to the centre, if you haven't noticed there are efficiencies in this approach. You cannot have a federal government whose focus is purely external, leaving the detail to the states, someone has to bring uniformity otherwise there is chaos, such as demonstrated by the ACA.

Yesterday Trump signed an executive order pulling the US out of TPP . The 1st person to praise his move was Bernie Sanders .
