So this is a friend of mine who had a boyfriend and was caught, about 2 months have passed her parents won't allow her to go to school at first for a week and she isn't allowed on any trips functions etc.we have an upcoming function at our school and I want her to come but we are afraid her parents won't allow. Is there something we can do?

There is NOTHING you can do either way.
This is your friends punishment and none of your business.

Caught? Doing what, robbing a bank, drugs? So by asking what WE can do you enter into collusion. Maybe she will learn her lesson.

I agree with Curleyben... she broke her parents rules so now she has to pay the price. This is none of your business. And as harsh as this might seen to a teenager.. its NOTHING compared to the price you pay as an adult for breaking the rules/ laws.

Her parents house, their rules. She broke the rules, they've decided on a punishment, and she has to accept that, as do you.

What can you do? You can ask her to ask her parents if she can go to this function, and if her parents say no, then you accept that, because it's up to her parents and only her parents.
