Hello,

I have been on H1 since 2003. I got recently married in feb 2007 and my wife is here on H4 visa.

I am filing 2006 tax return. I have few questions:
1.Can I get ITIN for her though she has been here for only a month in 2007?
2. I filed 1040 last time and should I include the fact that I got married recently?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Your filing status is determined as of Dec 31 2006. So for 2006 you cannot file as married. For 2007 you will file as married and yes you should obtain an ITIN for your wife.
