I have a Kitec piping heating system installed in my house and for many years there is no problem with leakages .Not so recently I cleaned and surged the water well, changed the well pump and shock chlorinated both well and house plumbing and after doing the water test , found high level of iron, manganese , copper , pH 6.8 , means the water is very soft .
My question is can this water deteriorate or effect negatively the Kitec pipings and fittings ? Does it worth to install the water softener anyway to prevent the Kitec break down? Or for Kitec it does not matter what kind of water in the well?

I've never seen it in Georgia but reading about it causes me concern. Are you aware of the class action suits? I wouldn't worry about the chemical components though, they are common in well water and relatively expensive to treat.

Sorry ,Sir , it's not a concern yet .I was just asking if high content of metals in well water can cause the Kitec piping to deteriorate . I understand for now that the main reason for Kitec piping and fittings to break down is a hot water , correct ?
