Let the child grow up and choose its own tattoo.

You can get sick or get an infection when the ink gets into your blood so no, it's not safe

The ink molecules are too large to pass through to breastmilk, and they can't really even get that far because the ink is only shot into the 2nd and 3rd layers of skin. Just make sure to go to a reputable tattooist to prevent disease such as hepatitis. Make sure the artist is in a very sterile environment. You def. don't want an infection. Although I have to say that most good tatooists will not tattoo a woman who has given birth until their child is at least 1 year old, to give that woman's body adequate time to heal before causing more trauma. Hope that helps.

I love it, let the baby choose its own tattoo. I am still laughing. B

But why not wait till after you are done breast feeding, I can't see the rush. But if you want to rush it, talk to your personal doctor and see if they have any concerns.

My son is also 2 months, and breastfed, I've wanted a tattoo for a while. I'm afraid of getting an infection and making him sick, but if everything is sterile and clean it should be safe, right?

I've been wondering this too my son is 6 months old and I breastfeed. From the research I found and I asked my friend who is going to do my tattoo that works at a very reputatble shop, it's completely safe. The ink won't pass through the milk the only thing to worry about it risk of infection. If the shop is clean and they steralize eveything, and you take care care of your tattoo properly then I'd say it's all good. I'm definitely going to do it.

Wanted to make an update! I recently got my tattoo and my son is just fine! The ink WILL NOT pass into your breast milk. Ladies, if you want a tat and you're breastfeeding, go on ahead! As long as you take care of your tattoo, you're safe.
