Someone has to do it. If it's the best choice for you? Only you can answer that.

Hotel Management can mean anything. It is a 'catch-all' from busboy, to working the desk on a night shift. It glamourizes the occupation of working in a hotel. Although there is probably room for advancement from time to time, but could take years.

You should know what you are good at, and look at those options. Unfortunately we cant tell you what you are good at.

Tick: It seems you are not aware that there are indeed some very highly-rated university programs in Hotel Management. Speaking from experience here - I can attest the programs at schools such as Cornell University and Michigan State lead to careers that are not busboy, but rather management positions in all sorts of hospitality-related businesses such as hotels, restaurants, private clubs, cruise lines, etc. In my experience the people who are accepted into these programs are highly-motivated, hard working, and quite often end up in jobs they enjoy very much.

To the OP: we don't know whether this would be the right career for you. If you have experience in the hospitality business (perhaps doing the sorts of jobs that Tick mentioned), then you should know whether it appeals to you or not. If you have no experience in this area my advice would be to get some experience before deciding to apply to a hotel management school. In general the top schools will not accept applicants who don't have some level of experience in the industry.

Hi ebaines. George Brown College in Toronto also offers a course in hotel management. As does any community college in the GTA. I might ad University of Western Ontario has hotel management courses and they have many campuses outside the GTA. We should mention Culinary Arts programmes as well.

Yes I am aware but the OP, as I see it, was not asking about courses, just a career option in entry level.

I may have read too much into the OP's question - I assumed he was asking about hotel management education, given that this is "Universities & Colleges" forum. We'll see if he responds to clarify things.
