    Sound in LG AC
    Hi, good morning
My 3 year old lg AC starting from cut off state to active state it making some mumbling noise. Is that the problem of compressor?

Do I have to replace the compressor(http://castleac.me/img/products/01-compressor.png) ?

3 years old... isn't that still under warranty? And even if it isn't, I'd be raising hell if the compressor actually failed.

In any case...unless you are an HVAC tech with all the specialized tools of the trade and know how to use them...you as a homeowner aren't going to be replacing a compressor. It simply can't be done with the average tools most people would have.

At a minimum you need manifold gauges, Vacuum pump and a leak detector. Legally you would also have to have a refrigerant recovery machine. With a failed compressor you also need to have the equipment to properly flush out the rest of the system.

I'd get a professional in to assess the situation. Preferably the same people who installed it since if it failed this quick..they might have screwed up the install.

You need a tech to either confirm or deny your theory. As Smoothy says they have and know how to use diagnostic tools. Calling the company that installed this unit is an excellent suggestion, and a great first step.
