Car idles at 750 rpm. When A/C Compressor engages, idle should go up to 1000 rpm but it remains at 750 (engine struggles). What is the fix ?

The problem likely resides with the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV). First, check the connector. If it's fine, consider replacing the IACV with a new OEM part. The PCM normally sends a signal to the IACV to increase the idle rpm, when the AC is turned on. Depending on the car, there may be a problem with the operation of the stepper motor inside the IACV. On my Honda, I can clean the IACV; however, on my Ford it's a waste of time and I replaced it with an OEM part. I tried using an aftermarket IACV, but it idled way too high.
