Lump on back of infant's head
I have 5 1/2 month twin girls. One of my daughter's has a small lump on the back of her head right in the middle and above her neck. It is hard and the size of a pea. She doesn't flinch when we touch it and seems to be oblivious to the lump. We are very worried and don't know if we should bring her in to her pediatrician immediately or if this is something common. She tilts her head slightly but can move her head both ways. I don't know what this could be - does anyone have any answers for me?

It may be nothing, but she needs to be seen by a pediatrician right away.

Hello.. what did you find out? My daughter was born with a bump ( lymph node we suspect) and now is tilting her head, not all the time. Sounded similar to your child and I was just wondering. Thanks

We did get it checked out and it was a lymph node. The Dr said there are lymph nodes all over our body so it is not uncommon for babies to have these harmless lumps. It is gone now so I wouldn't worry but it is nice to be reassured by your doctor!!
