Craftsman leaf blower will run at half speed until I press the primer bulb then runs at higher speed for just a second.

Means you are running lean. You can have a vacuum leak at the carb mount to the engine or a blocked fuel line or debris in the float bowl that plugs the jet. Check the carb screws first, very common problem.
