I'm trying to help my dad find a film he watched in the movie theater when he was about 10... so it came out around 1962 or so.


He said it was a religious movie and believes there was a group of monks. The main scene he remembers is the hero of the film is standing on sandals that apparently have nails sticking up through them in order to martyr himself. The hero character is standing on these nails, and blood pools around the man's feet.


I realize this isn't much to go on, so it's a long shot... but hopefully this will sound familiar to someone. Thanks!

Interesting factoid - Dolores Hart played Clare, Founder of the Poor Clares which is still around. Shortly after the movie wrapped, Hart entered the religous life for real in Connecticut. Almost 60 years later, she's still there and votes every year for the Oscars.
