I had sex with a guy I really liked and it was just in the heat of the moment and I let him finish inside me. That was around 1 am and around 10 am he took me to get plan b and a pregnancy test for me to take later on. I took the plan b and thought all would be fine but now I am freaking out cause I read online that it won't work in women who weigh 166 or more. I weigh 199 :( Am I crazy or do I have something to worry about. Also my period tracker says I am in my fertility window, and I am not expecting my period for another 16 days.

Nothing is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy if you have sex, no matter what you weigh! No point in adding stress on yourself by freaking out while you wait and see if you are pregnant or not.

Waiting for the proper time to test is the hard part, so you may as well save the freak out for when you get the RESULTS.

You do know all this heat of the moment stuff is really total BS right?

Its takes what? 10-15 seconds to open the condom and put it on him TOPS.

If he can't keep it up long enough for that then you really aren't missing much anyway.

Lots and I do mean LOTS of babies are born as a result of that mindset every year.

If you manage to dodge the bullet this time...you won't always be so lucky.

We didn't have a condom. And wasn't asking for judgement just answers. I already realize how incredibly stupid I was... don't need a reminder or to be belittled :(.

Based on the numbers of people that say that very same thing and yet claim they knew better... and still have accidental pregnancies, it needed to be said. Taking precautions and still getting pregnant is one thing (and it happens more often then you think when you can rattle off a list of names of people you know its happened to) taking NONE.. is another. Finishing had nothing to do with it...you could have gotten knocked up easily even if he didn't finish.

I wasn't born yesterday... I was young... And I also know a lot of people who had kids with people they only a short time later wanted nothing more to do with.. yet there was that child that forced them to have to deal with each other for decades.

Well thanks for the lecture. Still doesn't answer my question but I will exercise better judgement next time.

Instead of being condescending to me.. maybe next time you will think about what I said. Most guys bolt and don't stick around long after that happens. Or you end up with a case of Herpes, HPV or worse. And getting any of those are probably even more likely than a pregnancy with the infection rates in the general public. Statistics back me up and are easy to find. Do some research after you've calmed down. You will see my point.

Believe it or not I was not being condescending. I was actually saying thank you. May of not said it right but I was being sincere. Maybe instead of being so harsh realize that all I am is a scared girl who messed up and is just looking for answers.

The emergency contraceptive pills may not be as effective, but they can still offer some protection. Height and weight together play a role more so than exact number.

If this was within the last few days, and you are interested in a long term effective form of birth control, having an iud placed can also be effective for emergency contraception. You could also contact your doctor tomorrow for additional advice.

Odds are you won't be pregnant, but that's another option to lessen the possibility. Good luck.

This site is a bit different from other Q&A sites. We don't just answer questions but provide solutions. There is no solution to your current situation other than wait for your next period.

But there is a solution that could have prevented your current angst. Preparation! Be prepared for that heated moment by having some form of control available.

And you have a right to be. Scared.. and should be. It will help you understand the full seriousness of the situation. There really is no lesson learned better than one learned in such a situation. It tends to stick in your mind pretty strong afterwards. Saying don't worry, people make mistakes downplays the seriousness and next time you find yourself in a similar situation you do the same thing... maybe find yourself with one of those STD's I mentioned... all of which can be passed by people showing no visible symptoms.

What's done is done... what happens next remains to be seen. This is one of the harsh realities of the adult world. Actions carry consequences... sometimes pretty serious ones. And you don't get to go back and have a second chance to do things differently.

Is it a pretty harsh lesson to learn. Certainly is. I won't kid you about it. The fact I'm taking the time to respond should tell you I care enough that you actually do learn from this and never make the same mistake a second time. I've had close friends that have personally suffered from all the consequences I mentioned. And quite honestly... It would be nice if nobody else ever had to as well. But... even with Plan B pills and abortions.. there are no outcomes that carry no consequences. And with the STD's I mentioned. There are no cures. Maybe in the future there might be.. but odds are against it. So when all is said and done... I hope you do remember everything I pointed out. Because if you do... you will have the courage to do what you know is right next time... even if its not what you would like to do at the moment.

The issue is, that nothing, the pill, condoms, the morning after pill and so on, that works 100 percent, on the pill, using a condom, you can still get pregnant, we have some experts on here that have.

Also, there is so much more to worry about, beyond pregnancy, there are so many sexually transmitted illnesses. I would have more worry about those, than pregnancy.

The morning after pill has some effect on everyone, but it is much more effective the sooner you take if, after sex. Some of them have less effect with heavy weight, by are still effective.

Remember their side effects (and they have a lot of them) but it can cause you to miss your next period, which is the sign of pregnancy.

Also the birth control test, you just put away for some weeks. Wait until your next period date, then wait if you are late, till you are about two weeks late. Before you test.
