We replaced full valve and toilet seemed to be fine. Flushed normal no leaking. Our tenant calls next day and says toilet has no water in it and does nothing. What could the problem be now? We had flushed it at least 2-3 times before we left and was working fine. Please help I don't want to have to call a plumber.

Some times the chain that releases fill does not release properly mainly because it is to slack you could try to tighten it up a little. Take the top off and watch and see what is happening and you may see what the problem is. I have had the same problem where the tank does not fill even a drop of water and I pulled on the chain easily and it released and water started to fill the tank. Take up a couple links and give it a try.

There may be debris in the fill valve tube. Take it apart and clean it. Also, Close and Open toilet angle stop. Sometimes, there may be dirt inside the valve as well. Also, close water, unscrew toilet supply line at the tank, take a bucket, open toilet valve, and run water full blast into the bucket. Lastly, make sure the float in not catching on something inside the tank, preventing it from functioning properly

Your diagrams do not look like the one that I have in my toilet. It is similar to the 400A that you show, but the release is not shown. Mine has 2 chains, one to the flapper and the other releases the fill tube.

See if you can post a picture of it here...

In the interim: if problem with fill valve, plumbers do basic check of the valve, if it is not something obvious, they replace them. Fill valves are relatively inexpensive and very easy to replace. Big Box stores carry several types of fill valves. They all fit all brands of toilets

Milo, I wish I could show a photo of the inside of the tank. I can tell you that my Toilet is a Jacuzzi. Both chains are attached to the flush arm and the one chain lifts the flapper ball and the other releases the fill float so it drops down and the tank begins to fill up. I had problems with the tank not filling at all and I noticed that the chain was not being pulled enough to let the fill float to drop down. I would say it is a modified 400A because it looks just like the photo above, but without a latch and chain to drop the fill float.

That chain should be adjustable. Look the way it is attached to the handle. You should be able to lift it to shorten the slack
