I stepped on the remote for my hampton bay fan. Home Depot tells me to replace the receiver in the fan housing, but I cannot get up on a ladder. The fan was working until I dropped the remote.
Can I get a new remote? If so from where?

Transmitter and receiver codes have to match. You can try a Hampton Bay replacement, HD sells them. Not sure if codes will match and if not, you will need to go up the ladder or have someone do it for you.

I agree, get a new remote and pay someone to do the ladder work for you if needed.
