Check with the city, county or other local authority. In many places it is required that drawing of sewer connections is required as a part of the permit process.

On your property or in the Street ? Usually, City is not required to keep record of sewers on private property. City blueprints will show you only lateral run from the City sewer towards your property. It stops at the property line. From this point on - every homeowner runs it any way the want it

    Milo,

Recording the sewer line location with the county is required as part of the permitting process where I live. I believe that this is often require in other places. Not a big deal really, a hand drawn map. 20' this way, 50" that way. Its purpose is that it is available if you or or a future owner needs it later.
Sort of like filing your will at the court house, a service by the government to the citizen. A good idea by local governments in my opinion, not many of those.

Thank you for pointing it out to me. Learning something new every day. In So.California, City inspects sewer installation on private property, but doesn't not keep records of pipe location. They only record their own work and location of lateral. Then, in case or remodel, plumber has to figure it out himself. Sewer locating services is a big business here
