    Beacon Morris Heater wrong voltage
I have a Beacon Morris BRT030 that has performed perfectly for 5 years, recently I had some garage remodeling done and updated the service in the garage to include 220v. During the process it was discovered that the garage was wired wrong, so when the power was turned on it was 220v, I fried the cheap stereo and now I am wondering if this damaged the heater, I do not have the gas hooked up to the heater at this time, I turned it on to check power when it was hooked to 220v and the fan came on I did turn it off immediately, now when I turn it on nothing happens. Could something have been damaged? Where do I start?

You start by telling us how the garage was wired incorrectly. Tell us how it was wired before and how it is wired now.

And of course, if you had someone, rewire it, and it was done wrong, (sounds like running 220 though the 110 circuits, All of the areas of the wiring should be inspected. Plus what ever contractor did this, would be liable to fix it and pay for any damage it caused.

Whoever did the job needs to go back to trade school. To convert 120 to 240 requires a different breaker and converting a neutral to a hot. If indeed the unit is 120 and you ran 240 in, it is gone.
