My daughter (6 yrs) is suffering from sinusitis on a daily basis. From 3 years old she is on cronic sinus / allergy medicine - Sinupret and Texa Allergy.
From 4 years of age, she is also prescribed Monte Air chewable tablet and Avamys Nasal spray which she receives daily as well.
At the age of 4 years her tonsils and adinoids were removed.
I really feel that all the medication could not be good for her young body, and was wondering if she could get dependent on it, or that her immune would get use to it. At this stage, I feel that I am going to stop the medication completely and let nature runs its course. What would your advice be?

If you're unhappy with this, get a second opinion or referral to a allergy specialist.

Many many MANY doctors these days agree that the huge increase in childhood allergies is a result of too much cleanliness, especially with antibacterial soaps, and not enough playing in dirt.
It might be too late for her. She might be able to wean off drugs, slowly.

I have chronic sinus congestion these days from dental problems. But I'm 69 years old.
I had T & A removal as a child, after years of congestion, and it worked.

If you think your doctor overprescribes or isn't aware of the latest theories, find another.

Let nature take it's course? What if nature decides to kill her? What then?

This should not be done without the advice of a doctor, and without the control of a doctor. I do understand not wanting your child on so many medications, but what you're thinking of doing could kill her, or at least land her in the hospital!

If you aren't on board with what the doctor is prescribing, then seek a second opinion from another doctor. But do not take matters into your own hands.

If you do not think this doctor is doing correct, talk to them, ask about changes in medication.

Some things require medication your entire life. Changes in locatoin where you live, diets, life style, and other things can effect the need for medication.

Have you consulted with an allergist, specifically? I was on 5 asthma and allergy medications prescribed by my regular physician. Still, nothing worked. The allergist tested my allergens and lung function. He said I'm lucky that my lungs weren't damaged. He took me off all medicines. Now, I take a nasal spray as needed, and receive small doses of my environmental allergens through weekly shots. It's worth seeing a different doctor, but do not self diagnose and remove her medication on your own. It can be very dangerous.
