Tax re: Full-time job in NJ and Part-time job in Brooklyn,NY
Am a Jersey resident working full-time(40 hours, AGI~$60,000) in Jersey claiming 5. May be accepting position in Brooklyn, NY for additional part-time (16 hours,AGI~$19,000-23,000) Have read responses about resident in Jersey working in NY with one job. Since my part-time position is in NY, I can't just not take taxes out in NJ, right?

With a few tolls, a little commute, and possibly in a different/two tax levels, am wondering if it's worth it.

    Thanks for any help.

The tax situation is NOT as bad as you think, as you will get a credit for the NY taxes paid on your NJ tax return.

However, you STILL have to file two state return, one for NY and one for NJ.
