My Kenmore Elite dryer is suddenly tripping the breaker when I push the start button. Any ideas?

It could have a burned out element and one end is touching the body of the dryer which is causing a dead short to ground. Tear down the dryer, clean it, and use a meter to find the short, if necessary. It should be easy to find the problem.
