    Why wouldn't it be? Before electricity you have to be able to see your plate somehow.

    I would imagine there are many places where Islamic people live, particularly tribal areas, where there is no electricity.

    Candle lights for daily life with no electricity and candle light for romance dinner makes a lot of deference, in your case ask an Imam, Thanks

    Candle light for romance, would be the issue, since it would only purpose to stimulate sexual desires which would be the problem.
