Is there a possibility of pregnancy in this case?
I had sex last month on 2nd feb and at that same day I had started my periods. We did use protection but at there was a point there were sperms released without protection. The next day morning I took ipill and had my regular period for 2 days. Till this date my periods have not yet come. My period is delayed by like 12 days and I took 2 pregnancy test but both were negative. I do get white discharge but very less. Is it still possible that I am pregnant?

Yes it is possible, but more likely after effects of the ipill.

After how many days should I do my test to get confirm results?

Possible, but unlikely in part because of when you had sex and because you used emergency contraception.

When did you last try a pregnancy test? If it has been awhile, try one more at this time. It would be unusual for you not to have a positive result at this length of time after the sex if you were pregnant.

You can always wait until April and see what happens with your period at that time.

Remember, if using a condom for protection, it needs to be on before there is any penetration to offer the most protection.

You would test each week, for the next month, till you are either 2 months late, or the period comes. (or you can go to the doctor for a blood test)

As you know from reading the warning material with the IPILL, one of the common side effects (it has a lot of side effects) is that it can cause you to miss the next period.

I tried my last test about 4 days ago. I'm sorry but I couldn't follow much about your advice. Please correct me if I understood something wrong from your advice -"u mean that it is more about side effects and rare chance that I may be pregnant and that i'm taking test too early hence my test is coming negative" am I right?
About after how many weeks after missing period should the test be taken? Is it after 3 weeks after I missed my period?

Thank u for the help... does the result for pregnancy can be visible in normal regular blood test report? Which parameter do we actually want to see in the report?

Yes, your period being off is most likely due to the side effects of the ipill. In most cases, a pregnancy would have shown up on a pregnancy test by this time, as it has been 6 weeks since you had sex. For the peace of mind, either wait and see what happens with your period for April, or you could see your doctor and ask about having a pregnancy test done in office.

If you have a blood test done for pregnancy, a qualitative test will tell you positive or negative. A quantitative test, which is commonly used, will look for an actual amount of hcg... the hormone associated with most pregnancy tests. A measurement over approximately 25 would be considered positive. Most pregnancy tests these days, can detect low levels even in urine. Generally, you could get a positive result on a urine test after a couple of weeks of having had sex (this is commonly referred to as the two week wait). A blood test will give you a result several days sooner.

There are many, many tests that can be done with blood work. Specific tests, such as pregnancy, would be something a doctor would request. Just like an A1C test for diabetes, or your cholesterol level. Unless they were checking for the hcg level, it wouldn't automatically be noticed. Hope that makes sense!
