    Plumbing qpex
Under contract on a house 2400 sq ft. (4 full bath)(kitchen)(wet bar) and the inspection report indicates the plumbing is pex with Qpex fittings. Not thrilled with that. No obvious, visible signs of leaks. Two questions, (1) should I run for the hills. (2) Is there a rough estimate for that size home as far as changing out the fittings--I know this could vary quite a bit for various reasons, but we are negotiating repairs and it would be helpful to know about how much this would cost were we to continue with the purchase.

Not sure what a qpex fitting is. Quick? Qest? Shark or Gator bite? Most plumbers use the crimp fittings because of cost. Post a picture. If it is a Qest it can a compression fitting you tighten with wrenches or a crimp fitting done with a special tool. If it is the crimp type, very commonly used today.

The inspection report identifies it as Zurn-Pex fittings stamped Q-pex or 1807 and refers me to the website: plumbingfittingsettlement.com

The report indicates they have a higher than normal fail rate.

Would have been easier if you mentioned Zurn! See link. At this point, with a house under contract, I would have to let a professional plumber, at the sellers cost, inspect the house and give them some opinions. With an undergoing settlement-NOTE_-Any claimant making a claim based on a leak... Have you read the document?
