Hi NorPlan, yes agree with clete. It could be one of a few things. Don't know how old you are but you could have dislodged some accumulated residue from calcium deposit as a result of arthritis. No way of telling. See your doctor for proper diagnosis. As we always say, this can't be given on the Internet.

Read up on bursitis for a start.
Bursa (sacs filled with synovial fluid) are in the shoulders, elbows, knees, hips and knees.
I have lost the fluid in one shoulder and one knee, as evidenced by a lot of bone crunching noises.
You can get infected fluid too, although less is known about that.
Aside from that, there are several temporary or chronic and degenerative conditions.
Fortunately, knee treatments have made leaps and bounds in recent years.

Ok but what does this mean. You have socialized medicine, it doesn't cost you anything to have it diagnosed properly. The only reason people come here to ask questions about their health is that it costs them too much to be diagnosed and treated.

So my point is, after asking your question, what did you actually get out of it, or was this a waste of time ?
