I have a Jenn-Air JSD2789DES refrigerator. After installing the water filter bypass plug, the moment I try to dispense water, the plug snaps out. I have tried installing it several times and I get the same results. I am sure the plug is installed correctly. Please help.

Apparently you need to bypass the filter with tubing.

It is supposed to work just by installing the water filter plug. However, the moment I try to dispense water, the plug snaps out. I do not understand what causes the plug to push out.

Your plug is either not seated properly or is defective. See part 27 on this schematic

As you see the plug fits in the part (And over the threads for the filter) and must be twisted to lock it in place so examine both to see why it cannot be retained properly with part 27.
