I was released on a personal recognizance bond after being charged with simple assault. A protection order was issued on my roommate so now i have no place to live. can i willingly go back to jail.

Sure. Simply violate the protective order.

Or, better yet, explain to the judge that you don't want to go to the trouble of doing that, and ask that you be returned to jail.

But I'd personally be free, homeless, and hungry than in jail.
