    Non-toxic Finish Remover
Does anyone know of a product, either homemade or to purchase, to remove the finishes on furniture, woodwork or floors that is non-toxic? I think that I know of one that is called FastOrange? Any other Ideas?

I am trying to help a friend to refinish his oak floors in an old house. I already know how to do the wood preparation and refinishing. Just need to know if anyone knows the products/ways out there to remove the finish without using liquids that are so potentially harmful to us.

I think most people would sand a floor to remove the old finish. Floors are big and you would have to use a vary large amount of a chemical remover.

If you don't want to remove too much wood, just do a light sanding, apply a sealer, and then the finish.
