I have a straight forward replacement of a 2-gang switch with a 2-gang dimmer... at least it should be straight forward but I can't remember which lead goes where and my (not so) common sense seems to be letting me down.
What I have is this:
- 2 ceiling lights that are in adjoining rooms
- these are both switched by a 2-gang switch, 1 for each light, 1 way.
- there are 2 red wires and 2 white wires coming from the wall, so a red and white for each light
- there is also a short piece of wire that was connected between each switch
Clearly I should have taken a photo of the configuration before I started disconnecting them... but I didn't, lesson learned for the future.
I would be really grateful if someone could tell me which wires should be going into Common, L1 and/or L2 for each switch... and also where the short independent wire should feature in this.
