I'm only 30 weeks and 3days, baby has dropped lower, the past two days noticed clear stringy stuff when wiped,and checked my cervix on my own feels as if I could fit two fingers in and is shorter that before, haven't been able to make dr appt so thought id ask

Please do not check your cervix unless you are prepared to deal with complications should you accidentally rupture your membranes. Complications could include something as simple as introducing infection to your uterus called chorioamnionitis or more dangerous such as a cord prolapse, which could be deadly to your baby, just to name two. Cervical exams should only be done by someone trained to handle such complications.

Now that we have that out of the way, there is no way to know if you will go into early labor or not. If you are having regular painf contractions that increase in strength and intensity, I would recommend you go to the hospital where you are scheduled to deliver, and be examined by the labor and delivery nurses.
