I am 10 weeks pregnant when exactly did I conceive my LMP was November 1st, but I have two different due dates, August 11th and August 13th and August 20th? I hear that during the first two weeks or pregnancy you actually not pregnant,How true is that?

Calculating Conception dates (and due dates) is an inexact science. It can vary 2 weeks or more either way. So there is no way for anyone to tell you "when exactly did I conceive".

I don't know what is meant by actually not being pregnant. You are pregnant when an egg is fertilized and implanted into the uterine wall. But it is impossible to determine exactly when that happens.

The only reason to be concerned about your conception date is if you had multiple partners and need to know who the father is. Unfortunately, there is no way to conclusively determine paternity without DNA testing. And, generally, such testing will not be done until after the child is born. So if that is your issue you should be informing all potential fathers of your pregnancy.

August 11 & 13 aren't really that different when it comes to calculating due dates. It's only two days apart and calculating EDC is not an exact science.

Unless you had invitro fertilization there is no way to know exactly when you conceived.

Your due date, to begin with, is based on your last menstrual period. Since your date of ovulation is generally two weeks into your cycle, you're not technically pregnant at that point. You're pregnant not when the egg is fertilized but when it implants. You've probably had a few occasions where you've had a fertilized egg but it just passed because it didn't implant. Crazy eh?

Regardless, the due date isn't really fixed until have a good ultrasound of the fetus and even then it is just a guess. They is a specific growth pattern that an embryo and fetus tend to follow, this is how they can know about how far along it is and if it is growing well. There is a slight problem because every pregnancy is different and the way your child is developing might be different then what is generally expected. Your due date is middle of August. As your child grows they'll refine the date. It will only really matter if your child needs medical intervention for delivery, i.e. premature or overdue.

I wouldn't sweat it out too much unless the conception day matters, i.e. who's the father?

It takes time for the sperm to enter vagina, travel to the egg, fertilize the egg, and then the egg to implant. Pregnancy does not happen the day you have sex.

If you're trying to conceive, and having sex daily as a result, then it's impossible to determine the exact date you conceived. No one could give you that date, and that date really doesn't matter, unless there's a question of paternity, which means that there is more than one possible father.

Due dates can be off by 2 weeks (and all the days in between that two weeks) before, and 2 weeks (and all the days in between that two weeks) after. Only around 10% of babies are actually born on their due date, and I think that's a very high percentage. Most are born either in a two week period before their due date, or a two week period after the due date. It's not an exact science.

Is this a question of paternity? Are you wanting to know when you conceived because you don't know who the father is?

It really does not matter, what date you conceived, (unless there are multiple men) but the dates you are giving, from August 11 and August 13 (those are really the same, since a day or two is nothing in estimated dating, Even the August 20 is within a week of August 13, so that is still about the same.

Guessing at conception (unless you only had sex once) is just that a guess, based on average sizes of fetus, and it can easy be off by a week one way or the other, so that is really a two week period.

So no, no one can tell you an exact conception date.

Thank you guys for all your answers, much appreciated. Yes this is a question of paternity. I slept with two guys round about the same time. One around the first week of November (7th) and another one in the second week (around the 12th), hence the worry about the conception date. Is it the first or second guy?

It is impossible to know who the father of this baby is. You will have to gave a DNA test after baby is born to determine who the father is.

I told you the same thing back in Answer #4. But I want to reiterate that you NEED to inform both potential fathers of the possibility. They have a right to know they may be a parent.

At one week apart, there is no way at all, to know the date of conception. It could be either guy, dating is just educated guess work. Which is not exact and give or take two weeks is about the best you can get.

So sadly you will have to wait till the child is born and do a paternity test to determine for sure.
