How to connect a ceiling fixture with a white, red and copper wire in the outlet box - no black wire. I believe white goes to white and copper to ground. I attached the red to the black on the fixture as the prior fixture had done but the light does not work.

Should work, verify with a KNOWN good Bulb. Worse case you may have to go to switch box verify power in and out of switch, then at white and red wire, with the switch ON. Good uck
