    Graphics display
I am running a Gateway mid tower PC, P4, 256 RAM, WinXP home. Whenever I boot or reboot the computer the display setting automatically changes to 640X480 (Low 8 bit) from 800X600 (Highest 32 bit). I can go in to the display and change the setting back but I must do it every time my computer boots. Can anyone suggest what causes this or what I can do to correct this abnormality. Thank you, John

Download the correct video drivers for your video card from either the manufacturers' site or from Gateway (http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp). Download the driver package to your Desktop. Uninstall the current video drivers in Add/Remove Programs or Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager; expand Display Adapters, right-click on your video card and select Uninstall. Reboot. XP will say it found new hardware but you can cancel that. Now install the driver package that you saved on your Desktop.
